Peace of Mind

Reminiscing the past…
I remember those times when I was still a kid, I used to play with busy-busyhan things. I’m too curious what it feels like when you study at College and even what is life when working. Until such time na dumadating na sa punto na you and your barkada gather in a house then dun na maglalaro ng office office, bahay-bahay, lahat ng mga ginagawa ng mga older people, ginagaya namin. My mind those years is so empty, full of peace and etc.
Years later, here I am, I’m 23 years old na, graduated with a bachelors degree and working. Ang hirap pala. Ang daming problems, we can’t even focus on a single thing kasi nga busy tayo and also we forget things easily. In short more of us are having this lacking with Peace of mind.
Now let me ask you reader. Can you teach me how to have a peace of mind kasi sa kinatatayuan ko at this moment, I can say that I am suffering with an Emotional, Mental and Spiritual aspects of my body, even Physical, ofcourse, pag pagod isip mo, affected pati katawan mo. Right?
So I was thinking and meditating until such time na something pops out into my mind and gives answer to every question of my problem.
There are about 5 of them.

1.       Huwag mong pasukin ang trabaho ng iba UNLESS you are asked.

-          As I can see, most of us create our own problems in life. How did I say that? Simply because most of us are always interfering in others affairs. We do so it’s because somehow we convinced ourselves that our way is the best way, our logic is the perfect logic and those who do not conform to our thinking must be criticized and steered to the right direction. Which is our direction. Tama man?
No two homo sapiens can think or act in exactly the same way. All men or women act the way they do because God within them prompts them that way.
MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS and you will keep your peace.

2.       Forgive and Forget

-          For me ha? According to my own experience, I think this is the most powerful aid to peace of mind. Madalas tayong nagkikimkim ng hinanakit inside our heart for the person who insults us or harms us. We nurture grievances. Kaya tayo nagkakaroon ng insomias, even development of stomach ulcers and high blood pressure. This injury was done once, BUT nourishing of these grievances goes on forever by constantly remembering it.
Get over with the Bad Habit!
Life is too short to waste for those trifles.
Forgive and Forget, and march on.
Love flourishes in giving and forgiving.

3.       Huwag na huwag kang magki-crave for Recognition.

-          Admit it, this world is full of so much damn selfish people. They seldom praise anybody without any selfish motives. Pwede ka nilang i-praise today because you’re in a power but no sooner than you are powerless, they will forget all what you’ve achieved and will start finding faults in you.
And what? Magse-self pity ka?
Their recognition is not worth the aggravation dear, I tell you.
Do your duties ETHICALLY and SINCERELY. That’s all.

4.       Don’t be jealous.

-          Ofcourse, all of us, nag undergo na sa ganitong klaseng ugali.
Ang mainggit.
We all have experienced how this jealousy can disturb our peace of mind.
You know that you work harder than your colleagues in the office but sometimes they get promotions, and you do not.
You started a business several years ago, but you are not as successful as your neighbor whose business is only one year old.
Napakaraming examples na pwedeng mangyari sa daily life natin.
Should you be jealous?
NO!

5.       Do not bite off more than you can chew.

-          This principle needs to be remembered constantly. We often tend to take and grab more responsibilities than we are capable of carrying out. Palakas ba, wala man gihapon angay. My goodness, Know your limitations please! Why taking these additional loads that may create more worries?
You cannot gain peace of mind with that. Reduce your material engagements and spend more time in prayer, introspection and meditation.
That will reduce those thoughts in your mind that make you restless.
Uncluttered mind will produce greater peace of mind.

So there it is. Principles how to have peace in our minds. I’m sure you have your own principles too but let me just share my thoughts with you. I’m pretty sure, nakarelate ka kahit papano. So that’s all for now.

Take Care
